Dear Anglers,

The EL Cajon Ford Day Series held its 5th team tournament event at Lake Otay on Saturday June 8, 2013. We had a field of 35 teams that came to fish with some of San Diego’s Top Anglers. We had signups at 4:30am with coffee and donuts. The weather was over cast in the morning and sunny in the afternoon that made for some good fishing conditions for the teams that fished.

Over all, we had another excellent tournament with some very nice stringers of bass throughout the field given the post spawn conditions. The weigh-ins went very smoothly and we were able to get all the anglers off the water, fed, paid and head home with 1-hour after the last team weighing in. The BBQ was very delicious with catered food from BBQ Pit for all the anglers to enjoy after the weigh-ins.

The winners of the El Cajon Ford Day Series went to Paul Leader (Owner of El Cajon Ford) and Klayton Beldon with 5 bass limit that weighed 21.33lbs with the 2nd big bass of the tournament of 6.23lbs. Paul & Klayton took home $ 2,500.00 for first place finish and a ABU Garcia Rod & Reel Combo for the 2nd Big Bass worth $300.00. Mr. Leader and his grandson (Klayton) are currently in 5th place in the year to date standings with the big finish on Saturday.

Second place went to Todd Holverson & Jason Sleight with 5 bass limit that weighed 19.69lbs with the big bass of the tournament 7.59lbs. Todd & Jason took home a nice payday of $1,100.00 for their 2nd place finish and $500.00 for the big bass equaling a $1,600.00 day. Holverson & Sleight are in second place in the year to date standings with their strong finish on Saturday.

Third Place went to Andy Paluczak and Jackson Paluczak with 5 bass limit that weighed 15.34lbs with a kicker bass of 3.87lbs. Andy & Jackson took home $550.00 for their third place finish. San Diego Team Series wants to give a special recognition to Jackson Paluczak for his first bass fishing trophy and his hard work and diligent fishing he has done this year. We hope he keeps fishing.

We would like to thank all the teams that participated in the tournament and supporting the El Cajon Ford Day Series. We have had outstanding tournament participation so far this season, which is largely due to the great sponsorships that have supported this event, which makes our new series possible. At the raffle, we gave away over $1,000.00 worth of prizes that were donated by our great sponsors. We can not thank our sponsor enough for the dedication and support that you have shown our series.

Chris also donated a several hundred dollars worth of fishing product that we raffle off. Chris Marso has always been a big supporter of the El Cajon Ford Events and we cannot thank him enough for his support and generosity.

We would like to thank Sleight Consultants Inc. for the Trophy Donation as the plaques were top notch and we appreciate the donation and the support of the series. If you are planning to remodel your home, please give them a call as they are ready to help you with your project from plans to turn key.

We want to thank Paul Leader and John Blake from El Cajon Ford for their support of the San Diego Team Series. Without their support of El Cajon Ford Day Series would not be possible and we can’t thank these two individuals enough for all that they do for the bass fishing community.

If you looking for new or used car/truck please stop by EL Cajon Ford they will take care of you. Please keep in mind that El Cajon ford has the Quick Lane department, so if you are in need of an oil changed or a set of new tires you can stop by and they can get this done while you wait. In closing, our tournaments require a special staff and great sponsorship in order to be organized and conducted properly. Without our sponsors and our dedicated staff, we could not run the best circuit in San Diego. We would like to give a special thanks to our staff members for their continued support and dedication to the events, otherwise, we could operate such a smoothly run event.
