Dear Anglers,

The EL Cajon Ford Day Series held its 3rd team tournament event at Lake Hodges on Saturday April 13, 2013. We had a field of 30 teams that came to fish with some of San Diego’s Top Anglers. We had signups at 4:30am with coffee and donuts. The weather was over cast for most of the day that made for some good fishing conditions for the teams that fished.

Over all an excellent tournament with some very big bass being caught throughout the field, great tournament payouts and outstanding raffle prizes by our sponsors. The weigh-ins went very smoothly even with the Department of Fish and Game watching and tagging all the fish at the scales. We were able to get all the anglers off the water, fed, paid and head home with 1-hour after the last team weighing in. The BBQ was very delicious with catered food from Angels Taco Shop for all the anglers to enjoy after the weigh-ins.

The winners of the El Cajon Ford Day Series went to Tom Leedom and Matt Menzel with 5 bass limit that weighed 30.06lbs with a 6.45lbs big bass. Tom & Matt took home $ 2,100.00 for first place finish and their giant stringer. Tom and Matt had a exciting bag with all 5 bass pretty much weighing around 6LBS. They caught all there fish in the narrows using square bill crank baits. Leedom and Menzel are currently in first place in the year to date standings.

Second place went to Stu Hinkle and Ed Woods with 5 bass limit that weighed 21.30lbs with a big bass of 7.12lbs. Stu and Ed took home a nice payday of $1,100.00 for their 2nd place finish. They Caught their fish using a 7” Sinko’s fishing in the main lake. Hinkle and Woods are currently in 2nd place in the year to date standings.

Third Place went to Adam Hinkle and Jesse Hinkley with 5 bass limit that weighed 21.10lbs with a big bass of 6.08Lbs. Adam and Jesse took home $560.00 for their third place finish. Unfortunately, they did not have any big fish but a solid five fish limit. Hinkle and Hinkley are currently sitting in 5th place in the year to date standings with their solid finish today.

We would like to thank all the teams that participated in the tournament today and supporting the El Cajon Ford Series.
